IT is such great news that the Cleethorpes Carnival has been saved and who better to throw the lifeline then food giant Youngs.
The carnival is an institution, a traditional highlight on Cleethorpes’ event calendar.
However, necessary costs and a lack of organisational manpower looked set to sound the death knell for the parade and associated entertainment.
For a past generation the announcement, made earlier this year, was met with great sadness – those who grew up with the carnival and wanted it to remain as a tradition for their children and grandchildren to enjoy.
