NUNSTHORPE is not alone in the problems it faces – problems that were exposed on national television this week.

Visit certain areas in any town or city in Britain today and you will find such issues.

Our town’s estate was selected as an example of a part of Britain that some would rather try to forget – or indeed be completely ignorant to.

The issues lie in our society, not in the bricks and mortar that make up our estates.

While some may not wish to fully appreciate it, there is a great divide which is just as evident as it ever was, if not more so.

This is not new but what is more disturbing than it was maybe years ago is that society in Britain as a whole is becoming more and more divided.

It would appear that as a nation we have a certain section of our people who are completely at odds with the education system, the working world and the general structure that exists today.

As a result, there must be a concern that there is no way back as successive governments have tried and failed to reconnect and re-engage.
