Editor's Opinion: Rain will not stop falling!
FOR the residents of Bestall Road, in Cleethorpes, the £50 per household gesture from Anglian Water will surely be welcomed.
They were certainly not expecting to receive this goodwill token from the company, following the floods that resulted from a burst water main in their street.
After all, it is not every day that you receive money back from our utility companies, quite the opposite as we all complain at the bills that seem to rise faster than the flood water.
So a welcome apology indeed.

Flooding generally in recent years is becoming a real and serious problem for people – and for many it is a far greater headache than that caused by a burst water main, which can be fixed.
The Telegraph has been carrying a number of stories recently about the huge sums of money being charged for insurance for those who live in flood risk areas – and that is if they are allowed to insure their homes at all! These poor householders are in a no win situation.
They cannot afford to insure their property and its contents and they will find it difficult to ever sell for that very reason.
The Government must help and step in to find a solution – because one thing is for sure, the rain will not stop falling nor will sea levels stop rising.
The result of the two things above will mean the risk of flooding will become greater as the years go by.
