Ghostly goings on and old pictures of chums at De Aston School are included in a nostalgic look at Market Rasen that is attracting a growing following on Facebook.

More than 370 people have joined the Market Rasen Memories page to share their experiences of life in the town or find long-lost friends.

Now members want to take it a step further and meet in the town for a trip down memory lane.

Peter Spilman said: "I have been speaking to a friend of mine called Brian Sankey, who is the landlord at The Chase.

"We were thinking of asking the group if anyone fancied a little get together in his pub, where he has kindly offered to show some of the many photos that the group has posted on the wall.

"He has a projector and very large screen."

Mr Sankey said: "The Facebook page is fascinating and it would be great if we could get a group together to socialise and share their great memories of Market Rasen. It will probably be in the week or on a Sunday."

Among the posts is one by Richard Adamski about a "haunting" in the Market Rasen area. The picture shows a woman with her baby, but if you look closely there  is an image in the television screen.

Richard said: "This was when we lived in the terraced houses in Chapman Street. My mum said that she used to hear harpsichord music through my baby speakers, but there was no music or TV on anywhere in the house.

"They were happy times at Alan's house. Do you remember old Mrs Fox coming to the seances?"

Anita Boryszczuk is looking for an old friend. She said: "Does anyone know the whereabouts of my dear friend Cheral Gray, who live at the Grange in Market Rasen? She will be 50 years old now."
