Ernie Brown to stand as independent in General Election
A GRIMSBY gardener is hoping to sow the seeds for political change as a new people's champion.
Grimsby In Bloom chairman Ernie Brown has today announced he is to stand as an independent parliamentary candidate at the next general election.
-

Mr Brown, who lives with his wife Jacquie in Caistor, said he had been thinking about standing for election for the past few months, and believes he can offer a better alternative to local people, claiming "33 years is enough for Austin Mitchell".
He will be up against the likes of Victoria Ayling (conservative), Andrew De Freitas (Lib Dem) and Adrian Howe (People's National Democratic Party).

SQUEAKY CLEAN: Jacqui Brown and Ernie Brown launch the Big Tidy Up.
He said: "The other candidates are weak and most MPs have their snout in the trough and their hand in the public's purse.
"I am more in touch with reality and a lot of people have been asking if I'm going to stand, so I thought why not.

“Ernie has worked tirelessly to promote Great Grimsby,
bringing back a sense of civic pride to it's residents.
Ernie are you too suffering from delusion? Have you forgotten the seven million failures in Grimsby? Perhaps you should stand for Labour alongside the man that saved the world. You seem to think you are saving Grimsby (not great yet).”

“Carole he lives in Caistor so he is not exactly truly local.
Not exactly a clean sweep either with those drug convictions
Sorry Ernie your ego trip shows you to be the weakest candidate”

“Wouldn¿t it be interesting if..Sexy politics...imagine if that town up north on the edge of the 'arse' of the Humber, once again stood proud as a champion of change; saying goodbye to the complete waste of time that is voting for one of the main parties; there¿s too much tarnished history, too much bull..... the minor misdemeanours of Ernie pale into insignificance compared to the actions of the current parties. So few voters actually go & vote, that if all the voters that don¿t usually vote, actually voted they could change the face of politics overnight! I TRUST Ernie to try and DO the right thing for our area (free of party ties) and that is the difference!”
