Residents have mixed feelings over New Waltham plans after meeting developers
A PUBLIC consultation on plans to build up to 210 new homes in New Waltham has sparked a mixed reaction from residents.
As reported, developers Carr And Carr Builders – along with Stephen Newman Properties – hope to build homes on land near Louth Road roundabout over the next eight to ten years.

John Stanley is unhappy after learning the house next to his will be demolished to make way for a public walkway.
When news of the plans broke last week, many residents expressed concerns over how roads and other local amenities would cope with the additional burden the new homes would bring.
However, after meeting with the developers and viewing the plans, some now say they feel ambivalent.
However, for others, fears the development will blight homes with traffic, teenagers and trouble are still at the forefront of their minds.
Concerns were also raised by former councillor April Baker who said previous plans for the site had been thrown out because the land is a flood plain.
Developer, David Carr said: "We are not daft. No one wants it in their own back garden and developing is always an emotive subject.
"We have been talking to the council for eight years – we don't get a development this far without liaising with the council successfully."
The application will be submitted to the North East Lincolnshire Council in September.

“Town and Country planners seem to take something that works and then spoil it at great expense......then they move to another job and a new Town and Country planner takes something that was damaged and make sit worse.......also at great expense...ad infinitum”

“I've been saying to myself for years the only real solution to toll bar roundabout's traffic problems is:
a) Wider the roundabout once again.
b) Install peak time traffic lights on there with cameras on top of them watched by a control centre somewhere who can apply the human touch that is required to reduce the huge queues.
c) At the other end of New Waltham where the traffic lights meets the bypass reverse the trend of not letting much traffic through as has occurred in the last 12 months resulting in the traffic backing up to Hewitt's Circus roundabout instead... offsetting the bottleneck at toll bar by moving it elsewhere doesn't cure the issue and just moves it elsewhere.
On the same topic of traffic problems in this town, Humberside Police should draft in an officer to manually direct traffic at the Boulevard lights the old fashion way - with his arms - during the hours of 4.30-6.00pm. At the moment traffic just overspills on to the A180 and people physically block traffic at the roundabout - completely bringing to a halt motorists travelling east to west.
I should be a road planner for NELC haha”
