Explore wonders of the Wolds on countryside trail
WALKERS, drivers and horse riders can enjoy a new countryside trail through the Wolds.
The Lindsey Trail, which passes through some of the Wolds most attractive landscape has been officially opened.

The 69-mile route is suitable for carriage drivers, horse riders, cyclists and walkers. The route mainly uses the existing public highway network incorporating both surfaced and unsurfaced quiet lanes, byways and restricted byways.
The Forestry Commission has also provided permission to use more than 2.5 miles of forest tracks through Willingham Woods.

A number of groups and organisations have contributed to the project including the British Driving Society, British Horse Society, Lincolnshire Wolds AONB Countryside Service, Lincolnshire County Council and East Lindsey District Council.
The trail, which will be one of the first long distance routes in the country suitable for carriage drivers, aims to encourage and promote countryside access for the local community and visitors to the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB area.
