THE deer trapped on Sutton Fields Industrial Estate is not the first to run into trouble in the past month.

Residents rang The Mail to report seeing one in East Park a few weeks ago and another became trapped at Hull docks last Thursday. A total of 16 firefighters were called to rescue the stricken roe deer which had fallen into a basin.

The animal was discovered at Victoria Dock, near Maldon Drive, at about 7am.

A specialist water rescue team from east Hull arrived on the scene and four firefighters in dry suits managed to retrieve the animal unharmed.

Fire officers believe dogs in the area had spooked it.
