STUDENTS can watch Saturday's clash between Grimsby Town and Dartford at Blundell Park free of charge thanks to the Mariners' latest ticket offer.

The Blue Square Bet Premier encounter is likely to be a lively affair, as the teams sitting fifth and sixth in the table go head-to-head.

And students can sit in the covered corner of the Osmond Stand for absolutely nothing with a voucher from the Telegraph's Student Survival Guide.

Visit the Blundell Park ticket office for more information.

“@sta(think I know a person by a comment)mariner. The club already offer them a discount as do many places and it's not about finances it's about recognition, if the majority of other clubs offer armed forces a discount then why not GTFC? Premiership & championship clubs as well as many other league clubs offer free tickets through tickets for troops as way of recognition for what we do. You think finances but you'd be suprised how much other media support it attracts and I'm not talking the telegraph either as they rarely mention anything to do with armed forces except if a local service person dies. They can afford to let students in for free but not give a small discount to armed forces. Shame really as there are plenty of clubs who give us full support and even have some training with armed forces, which you can't really beat for fitness. Maybe it would be more apt to give our trawlermen a discount as there is not many of them left now, who knows maybe they do. Go across to America and the armed forces get everything for free, from theme parks to all travel. I did indeed choose my job and am happy I did and feel proud in doing so, your clearly mistaken if you think that I think the world owes me something, you know nothing about me and I certainly do not wish to know about somebody as small minded as you. “@Army(soIthinktheworldowesmesomething)Parky - Its a simple case of finances, the club are not rewarding them for what they do, they are simply making it more affordable. Dont get me wrong, I appreciate what you lot do for our country but its not like you was drafted. You chose the job, you deal with it. I have never heard a fireman complain about discount because he puts himself in harms way for the countries citizens. Do you realise fisherman still die at sea? Maybe with us being a fishing town it would be more apt to offer trawlermen a discount for what they do.”

“So guess this means a delayed kick off time to allow them to get out of bed?”

“Yeah students can 'youngers' unlike Armed forces, we dont get a discount, can't get a season ticket as never know when will be home. Unlike the majority of the clubs we have visited in the BSP who do give a discount (only Wrexham didn't give us a discount) and was the same in league 2, Grimsby the only club not to give a discount but do't worry the students do plenty more than what any of us would do....”

“A far better way is to reward fans who turn out regularly but telling them to save their match day stub off the ticket and when you have twelve of them exchange them for a free match day ticket. At least your giving free tickets to those who really do support the town through out the season. While they may not be in a position to be able to afford a season ticket, yet you still have a way of showing your appreciation of their loyal support.
Students can still get reduced pricing tickets. or did.”
