Freshney Carnival parade hailed a great success
CHILDREN and adults alike enjoyed fun in the sun at the second Freshney Carnival.
Residents of all ages turned out in fancy dress for a parade through the streets to the tune of the Grimsby Sea Cadets' marching band.

drumming up support: The Mayor of North East Lincolnshire, Councillor Norma Lincoln, starts the parade.
The event was organised by the Freshney Forward community group to bring together residents from the Willows, Wybers Wood, Aylesby Park and Great Coates.
Children took to the bouncy castle and the bucking bronco, while more than 40 households entered the inaugural Freshney In Bloom competition.
Noreen Turgoose, vice-chairman of Freshney Forward, said: "It was a great success.
"We had it last year and hopefully it will continue if we get the support.
"We all got dressed up for a fun day and it was just lovely to see the children themselves.
"The other unique thing was having our very own Freshney In Bloom. As far as I'm aware we are the first ward to do this, and we are very proud of it."
