Fusion of song, dance and humour at Grimsby Auditorium in A Show of Community
VIBRANT, colourful and energetic were the hallmarks of A Show of Community, which brought together different strands of our extended local performing arts family.
There was was a fusion of song, dance and a hint of humour at Grimsby Auditorium, as a huge cast united to help Angela Pearson raise funds for Community Art Works Ltd, a new venture aiming to provide free activities for local people.

On stage: A huge cast, colourful costumes and musical hits were the hallmarks of A Show Of Community, which was staged by local performing arts groups at Grimsby Auditorium.
Those taking part included You Can Sing Vocal Academy, Curtain Up Productions, Grimsby Academy of Performers, Alexandra Bloy Centre of Dance, Kap Tappers and SJL Dance.
Almost three-and-a-half hours long, the show would have given Ken Dodd a run for his money; it was a non-stop conveyor belt of chart and stage musical hits with a flash of catwalk fashion.

The tempo pulsated as the performers whizzed through Fame, 42nd Street, across the barricades of Les Misérables, submitted to Chorus Line's auditions and paused to dip their toes in the Seine for a visit to the Moulin Rouge.
The audience rocked to Queen, lamented Blood Brothers and became outrageous with Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
The spirit of a community flowed through the veins of this show, a strong sense of teamwork and the compassion of a reassuring hand when tiny tots became slightly overwhelmed.
They shed no tears and Matthew Bushell rejected the sultry tones of the original to deliver a dramatic Cry Me A River while Angela Pearson and Mandy Pearson tickled funny bones with We're A Couple of Swells. Some of the youngest members of the cast, however, did steal hearts with their cuteness during When I Grow Up.
Curtain Up Productions' Something Inside So Strong exposed the audience's inner musical soul and they responded to the beat with enthusiasm.
This was a show by the community for the community and their united strength in numbers delivered entertainment in an abundance.
