Gala night to toast end of Bottoms Up!
FUNDRAISERS will be saying "Bottoms Up!" at the weekend as they toast the successful end to a nine-month journey.
Supporters of a Telegraph-backed Diana, Princess of Wales hospital campaign to raise £150,000 for colorectal patients will gather to mark the end of the Bottoms Up Appeal on Saturday.

A gala at The Beachcomber, Humberston, will host everyone who has supported the appeal, giving committee members and hospital staff the chance to thank the public for their help.
As reported, the appeal was launched in January to raise enough money for six high-observation beds within the hospital's B-ward, allowing for complicated bowel surgeries for cancer and other diseases to be performed quicker and more efficiently.
We are at this time unable to disclose the total funds raised by the appeal, but the final figure will be revealed on the night – and there may even be a cheeky surprise in store for the audience.
Appeal chairman Ian Phillips explained how the evening will feature cabaret performances from the Pat Yarborough Inspirations dance troupe, an Elvis Presley tribute act and local singer Chloe Ladlow.
He said: "This will also be the night of the big draw for the Bottoms Up! Toyota iQ car – an amazing prize kindly donated by John Roe Toyota of Grimsby.
"The appeal has been yet another example of the generosity of local people and we want to thank everyone for all their hard work in making it a success, so that's what this evening is all about.
"However, I am aware there are people still holding events and raising money for the appeal, and I want them to know that although the drive this year is officially ending, their efforts are appreciated.
"Every penny raised now and in the future for Bottoms Up! will go to the colorectal unit."
The night also boasts some jazz with Just Friends and an appearance by Miss Grimsby Telegraph, Sarah Lowe, who will sing and draw a prize raffle.
Danielle Roe, daughter of John Roe Toyota's managing director Paul Roe, will draw the winning car ticket.
Tickets are available from the Beachcomber and will be on sale for £5 when the doors open at 7.30pm.
AN acoustic event will take place tonight at the Matrix Club in Bethlehem Street, Grimsby, in aid of Bottoms Up!
Nine acoustic acts will be performing, including Alex Kyle, LES and Bjorn & Ben.
Admission is free but donations will be appreciated. A raffle will also be held.
David MacMullan, who is organising the event, said: "It will be a nice laid-back evening with a relaxed atmosphere.
"It will be quite a different event to what is normally held at the club, as we have never done anything like this before.
"We shall see how it goes, but it should be a brilliant night, so I'd encourage everybody to come along."
