FIVE-a-side football team Grimsby Galacticos are pondering their next challenge after competing in the finals of a national competition at the home of Arsenal FC.

The successful Grimsby team competed in the finale of the Powerade 5s, at the Emirates Stadium in London.

An expenses paid five-day holiday to Euro 2012 was up for grabs for the winner, but Galaticos were knocked out in the group stages after one win and two defeats.

The team played 13 games to reach the national finals of the competition, winning their opening qualification event in Hull before booking their spot in the London finale by finishing runners-up at the Leeds Powerade 5s Regional Finals.

Gavin Watson, the team's manager, said: "I'm really proud of the lads.

"Since forming just a couple of years back, we've won a national title in Sheffield, won ten local league and cup titles, and reached a nationwide final with the Powerade 5s.

"We'll take a break now consider which league or tournaments to enter next."
