Gardens scheme issues an open invitation
WHAT could be more pleasant than a summer's afternoon strolling around a beautiful garden?
Winter's icy grip has been loosened and the National Gardens Scheme (NGS) is already busy preparing to open scores of gorgeous gardens to the public.

Every year, NGS gardens throughout England and Wales receive thousands of visitors, raising funds for charities including Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Crossroads Care.
More than £25-million has been raised in the last 10 years.
In Lincolnshire, the choice is varied – from mature woodland gardens to tropical havens.
An NGS spokesperson said: "The traditional way to visit NGS gardens is on a Sunday or public holiday – but many gardens open at other times, including midweek or Friday evenings.
"Many garden owners are happy to welcome visitors by prior arrangement.
"If you're part of a group or society, why not arrange a private visit – you will get a very personal tour and many garden owners are happy to provide morning coffee or tea on request."
In Lincolnshire as a whole, there are 55 gardens opening.
