Immingham golfer Gary Markham sinks first ace
AFTER searching bunkers to no avail, stunned Immingham golfer Gary Markham discovered he had landed his first hole-in-one.
The 43-year-old has admitted it wasn't the prettiest shot, or method of discovery, but who cares?

Not Markham, who said: "It doesn't matter – that doesn't show on the scorecard. It was still on target!"
In calm conditions, Markham's seven-iron tee shot found the cup on the 147-yard 8th. Two years a member at Immingham, Markham celebrated his first ace alongside his two regular playing partners.

He explained: "It was on-line from when I hit it, but there were bunkers at the front of the green and I assumed it had stopped short.
"When we got there, we were looking in the bunkers but couldn't find it.
"Then I walked up to the pin and was pleasantly surprised to see it in the hole. It was a very strange but great feeling to have got a hole-in-one.
"And it was a nice finish to the day – we had played the back nine first, so it was the penultimate hole and the hole-in-one helped me win the game!"
Markham was spared an expensive finish to his round.
"The clubhouse was shut at the time (for the traditional hole-in-one round of drinks)," he added.
"But I'd got the coffees in before the round at least!"
