HARVEST Moon will face Old Calathumpians in the final of the John Pettit Grimsby and District Saturday Cricket League KO Cup.

In semi-finals, Harvest Moon defeated Cuxwold at King George and Old Calathumpians beat Clee United Old Boys at Holton-le-Clay.

At King George, Harvest Moon batted first and lost pinch-hitter Gavin Turner for nine when he was bowled by J Skudder (5-2-11-1).

Then, after playing some textbook shots, Mark Hutchinson (13) was trapped leg-before by Batchford (3-0-32-1) and soon after Paul Morgan was bowled by Richardson (5-0-42-2) without troubling the scorers.

The fourth-wicket stand between Phil Hutchinson and Gavin Warnock proved to be the determining factor in the game as they pushed the total past 100 before Hutchinson was caught off Lockwood for 55, which included nine boundaries.

Lockwood (5-0-43-3) then picked up the wicket of Roger Bentley for 13, but Warnock went on to dominate the rest of the innings with a mix of technical brilliance and powerful hitting, finishing on 65 not out, which also included nine boundaries as Harvest Moon closed their 25 overs on an impressive 191 for eight

Cuxwold's chances were dented after fine opening spells from the economical Dan Baker (4-0-4-2) and Chris Humphrey (4-1-17-2) put them on the backfoot.

A Lockwood and Al Lockwood hit 24 and 12 respectively before falling to Neil Mapley (4-0-32-3).

Mark Hutchinson performed tidily behind the stumps, taking two catches, while Craig Davy (1.2-0-11-1) took the final wicket with the Cuxwold score on 104, leaving Batchford stranded on 24 not out, as Harvest Moon advance to the final with an 87-run win.

At Holton-le-CIay, Clee United Old Boys lost three early wickets to Barry Whittleton (5-0-11-3), while his new-ball partner Andy Holness bowled an economical spell of 5-1-9-0.

Change bowler Barry Hanslip (4-0-18-2) kept the pressure on with a brace of wickets, while Chris Barnard (5-0-24-3) removed Rob Kurz (15) and Leman (12).

The mainstay of Clee United's innings was opener G Clark, who hit an unbeaten 44 in his side's total of 97 for eight.

In reply, Jamie Withers (5-2-13-2) gave the Old Boys some hope with two early wickets.

Then Andy Hale (4-0-22-1) picked up a wicket, before opener Chris Waters and White (18) steadied the ship.

Waters went on to dominate proceedings with an unbeaten 47 and, with nine not out from Hanslip, Old Calathumpians clinched their six-wicket win after 20 overs.
