Global girls clinch points from tight showdown in Grimsby netball league
GLOBAL Vision took the points after a closely-fought battle against Betty McKenzie in Division Two of the Grimsby & District Senior Netball Winter League.
The Global girls just edged the contest 13-12.
Considering recent form, it was always going to be a tight game.
Global began the stronger with centre (C) Vicky Birkwood making the play for her team from one end of the court to the other.

However, Betty's wing-defence (WD) Ellie Phillips was always on hand to intercept balls that came her way.
At half-time, the score was 8-5 to Global.
A team change for Betty's at half-time seemed to spur them on, with Jane Dixon coming on to take over the goal-shooter (GS) bib from Marilyn Scrimshaw.
The latter had suffered a nasty fall in the first half.
Dixon netted three lovely shots on the bounce to bring Betty's back level.
The match was competitive throughout with closely-contested balls and some acrobatic interceptions by Betty's goal- defence (GD) Sarah Laister which enabled the ball to travel back to Dixon and goal-attack (GA) Tracey Duff.
The deciding factor was the height and precision of Global's goalkeeper (GK) Vicky Clarke.
She was always on hand to retrieve the rebounded missed shots, and her long-reaching lean enabled her to defend many attempts. At the final whistle, Global Vision were the victors by just one goal.
