This is the question being asked by organisers of the Grimsby In Bloom Poetry Competitions held in co-operation with Waterstones.

Despite prizes of £60 of book vouchers on offer as yet no one has entered into the annual event.

Trevor Harrison of Grimsby In Bloom says he is puzzled at the lack of response.

"The event is open to all senior schools and sixth form colleges but we have had no response since we started promoting the competition five weeks ago.

"The deadline for entries was set for this Friday but I am extending it to Monday March 25 in a hope people can find their inner poet and enter.

"Anyone under 17 is welcome, just speak to your English tutors or schools as they have all the entry information.

"We have been left asking where have all the poets gone? The competition hopes to encourage young people to get more involved in reading and creativity and the winners school will receive a trophy which they will hold until the next competition."

To enter the poetry competition simply speak to English department of your school or college to find out more.
