Grimsby GPs join national strike
FOUR GPs in Grimsby have today joined in with the national doctor strikes over planned changes to public sector pensions.
As part of the action, Dr Hussain and Dr Ashwood, from Weelsby View Health Centre, Ladysmith Road, Grimsby, and Dr Matthews, Dr Sinha and Dr De, from Cromwell Road Practice, Grimsby, have stopped providing non-urgent care to patients for the rest of the day.
Through England and Wales, the contributions doctors have to make to their pensions are due to rise and the age at which doctors retire is set to go up from 65 to 68 by 2015.
Doctors have guaranteed that no patients will be put at risk and normal service is expected to resume tomorrow.

“At the end of the day Doctors make life and death decisions every day of their working life would you want that responsibility because I know I would not. At the end of the day if they prescribe something and the person ends up being allergic to it in some cases it could cause a death. They deserve every penny they get both whilst being employed as doctors and also when they retire, many do not live long as what other people would do as they have a high stress working lives which takes its toll on their health”

“Have a look at the bma website and the govt consultation paper for details of the proposals, clam down dear you shouldnt worry about other peoples income streams, you just enjoy your retirement from your upvc conservatory, enjoy the smell from the refineries when the winds in the wrong direction. My last comment thankfully, public sector pensions will be changed whatever, its a popular policy.”

“I've just re-read your comment, Brooky. Previously you have said you pay 40% of tax. Now you say you are avoiding tax. So which is it? If you are paying 40% you're not doing a very good job at avoiding it!!! Ha ha ha. It gets better and better.”

“Yawn, Brookie with his I pay 40% tax!! So what? So you earn over £37,000? That is not a great amount! Get over yourself. You could be an operator at a south bank factory opening and closing valves earning that! Ha ha. You are a proper eejut.”

“Tax avoidance while legal means that they say they have given money away to avoid paying tax on that amount or spending it on buying new vehicles so yet again they are not taxed on it. This is also known to a large extent as cooking the books to show that they are making less profit than they are actually are. Hmmm do others know about fact and figures”

“Ps paying / avoiding the amount of tax I do by definition proves Im no idiot, ps tax avoidance is legal, when the state stops believing they have a god given right to my efforts then I may decide to pay more. I'll decide.”

“Calm down Dexxx. Brookie24 IS an idiot. He's the type of person who thinks it's ok for the filthy rich to pay little or no tax but then accuses the poor and low paid of being a drain on society.”
