WELL, we didn't expect to be praising Dartford this week – not with Grimsby Town's FA Trophy semi-final first leg against them on Saturday.

But – credit where credit is due – Tony Burman's men did the Mariners a big favour last night, beating Luton 1-0.

The Hatters are now 14 points adrift and on the verge of being discounted from the title race completely. I'm not sure why that's quite so satisfying, but it is!

In-form Mansfield also came a cropper, which is handy – although their defeat was to Newport, so mixed emotions on that one.

There were also wins for Wrexham and Forest Green but you can't have everything your own way, and one by one the promotion-chasers seem to be dropping away.

Let's hope a couple more have fallen by the wayside once Town have safely made it to Wembley – at the Darts' expense.

Who do you think are the Mariners' main challengers for the title? How many teams are still in the hunt for the automatic promotion spot? Let us know your comments below.

“To be fair I really thought Luton would be up there this season, they should be but something hasn't worked for them, maybe they put too much into the FA cup but then they are not a concern now. Big contenders are Wrexham which is no surprise. I am surprised that Newport are up there still, I thought they would be outsiders for play off place but they going for it. Forest Green I thought would be up there and they are. Can't see Mansfield or Kidderminster challenging for the top but surely play off places. We've got to be favorites now and as long as we keep winning we are going up, a draw here & there we can handle but just hope we dont drop too many points before the end of the season! UTM 2012/13”

“Wrexham, Forest Green and Newport are all in with a shout, as are Mansfield and Kidderminster. I do think However that it will be between us and Wrexham, and as confident as I am in the current squad, I am nervously comparing their run in to ours and they look to have the easier games. Keep the Faith UTM

PS not sure who this Luton team is people keep mentioning I looked at the table but couldnt see them in the top 6 and I doubt we will come April either.”

“I dont get why we consider Lutons results, they are a poor side and will do well to make the play offs. We have smashed them twice this season and that shows to me that its the likes of wrexham and newport to watch but we are the ones in control of this league and just need to keep our own house in order.

    UTM”
