JOINT Grimsby Town manager Paul Hurst is expecting a Bath backlash in tomorrow's FA Trophy tie after the Romans' 6-0 humbling at Blundell Park 13 days ago.

Town face the Blue Square Bet Premier's bottom-placed side for the second time inside a fortnight after a comprehensive drubbing in the league encounter that saw Liam Hearn net a fourth hat-trick of the season.

But, like his opposite number, Hurst believes it will be a different proposition as the teams vie for a quarter-final spot at Twerton Park.

Nevertheless, with confidence high in the Town camp, he reckons an early goal for the visitors could bring painful memories of the league game flooding back for the Somerset outfit.

Hurst said: "What we know is that Bath will be keen to put that result to bed.

"They will want to show they can get one over on us.

"They had a good record against us prior to the 6-0 and that was something we spoke about before the last game.

"I think they will play with the same principles but possibly change the shape.

"They went with three centre-backs at Blundell Park and it didn't work for them.

"They changed back to 4-3-3 next game.

"We won't try and second-guess them.

"For us, it's guarding against that and not being complacent.

"There's a big prize at the end of it for the winners and that's a place in the quarter-finals.

"We will hope for a good start to put them on the back foot at home.

"If we can get ahead in the game, psychologically the 6-0 may come into their minds.

"Initially, though, it works against us slightly as it will motivate them.

"There will be changes to their team that started that 6-0 game.

"They have a couple of suspensions and have brought new faces in.

"It will be slightly different but our form means we go there confident."
