Grimsby Town: England formula appeals to Rob Scott
MARINERS joint-boss Rob Scott is following a similar blueprint to Roy Hodgson's new-look England squad as he seeks a formula for success at Blundell Park.
Speaking ahead of England's game against Sweden tonight (7.45pm), Scott said he was impressed with what he saw during their opening 1-1 draw with France on Monday, adding he felt that the Three Lions' mix of experience and youth proved effective against 'Les Bleus'.
It is a formula that he believes in and one that he and fellow boss Paul Hurst have looked to adopt since their appointment at Blundell Park in March last year.
He said: "You can see that Hodgson is working for the future and building towards the World Cup in Brazil in two years' time.

"In a way, the current England side is a bit like ourselves in that they have a young squad with a few older heads mixed in.
"Against France, I thought they did well and they put in a really organised and professional international performance and I think they'll do alright in the group."
Roy Hodgson's men go into tonight's game in sitting in second place of Group D; two points behind Ukraine, who beat Sweden in their opening game of the tournament.
After falling to the co-host in their first fixture, the Swedes know that they need to take all three points in their next two games to have any chance of qualifying from the group.
But they will come up against a stubborn and organised England side that has only conceded one game in their last three games .
The joint boss, who became a father for the first time last week, believes that style of play will help England to be more successful in the tournament than many people are expecting.
He added: "This time round, people's expectations of England aren't quite as high as they normally are and I think that has worked in their favour.
"England are not the best team in the competition but, over the years, how many times have we said that about teams like Germany who go all the way through tournaments grinding out results."
