Grimsby Town: Gateshead game called off again
GRIMSBY Town's game at Gateshead tonight has been cancelled because of a waterlogged pitch, as expected.
A morning pitch inspection deemed the problematic surface at the International Stadium unplayable.

It is the second time that the match has been cancelled after the original fixture was called off because of a frozen pitch.

“The pitch is clearly not upto standard and the club more or less say so on their own website. Because of we face added fixture congestion. The league should step in an either order them to rectify the problem, play elsewhere or be deducted points.
First Mansfield's miraculous playing surface against Liverpool a week after it was 'unplayable' and now this postponed for a 2nd time. The FA trophy is starting to look like a costly distraction espeially if we get to a two legged semi-final on consecutive Saturdays.”

“Given the number of games postponed at this stadium it is clearly obvious that the playing surface is not up to the job. Given that the league can refuse promotion on the basis of grounds not being up to standard then the league need to investigate just what is going on and act accordingly. Simply not good enough
