"We appreciate that if Grimsby Town can produce young players, then that will be beneficial to the club.

"Also, it helps to give youngsters a perspective and focus in life. Getting involved in football, with a community club like Town, can only be good for their futures.

"So Ramsdens have put a package together to support the Youth team for the next three seasons.

"This will be the first full season that we've been doing that and part of that package is our membership of The Century Club."

He added: "I think The Century Club is a great initiative and we're very pleased to be part of it.

"There are a lot of companies who, in the past, would have wanted to get involved with the Youth set-up, but thought that they couldn't because the costs would be prohibitive.

"But, at £200, there will be a lot of businesses who will want to help develop the club's Youth system, which is going from strength to strength."

Town's Youth manager Adam Smith was delighted to have Ramsdens' support.

"They are the first business to become Century Club members and get the ball rolling," he said.

"With the reputation that Ramsdens have within the local community, it's fantastic for them to be the first ones on board. Hopefully many other with follow their lead."
