Grimsby Town Youth's 9-1 win is 'perfect send-off' for Robbie Stockdale
GRIMSBY Town's Youth team gave outgoing boss Robbie Stockdale the perfect send-off – thrashing Pontefract Collieries 9-1 in the FA Youth Cup.
Stockdale began his new senior development coaching role at Premier League Sunderland yesterday.

And his last game in charge, at Blundell Park on Wednesday evening, couldn't have gone much better as goals from Will Peers (4), Rob Bryant (3), Lee Wattam and Callum Robinson saw the Town youngsters romp to victory.
"I asked the kids just to do themselves justice – they're good players and they're a good team," said Stockdale, pictured.

"It's a tough job being Youth team coach because there are a lot of things you have to deal with, but this set of lads are a different class. For them to play like that was outstanding.
"I enjoyed it – I was a bit nervous about it beforehand. The training was really flat and, with me leaving, the kids were a bit unsure of what was going on. So I said to them 'do yourselves justice'.
"If they have a career in football, it happens all the time, people come and go. But I wanted them to enjoy the pressure as well – football's about having pressure on you.
"Playing football in front of people is the best bit."
He added: "If you don't want to play in front of people go play at the park.
"They enjoyed it and passed the ball well – front to back – they passed it through the midfield exactly as we wanted and as we've taught them."
