JOINT boss Paul Hurst has distanced himself from speculation linking Grimsby Town with a move for centre-half Tom Naylor.

The Derby County defender returned to Pride Park last week after a loan spell with Bradford City.

And Hurst believes the 21-year-old may be heading elsewhere in the Conference.

Speaking after yesterday's FA Trophy victory over Dartford, he said: "As far as I'm aware, I think he might be joining another club in our league."

“Pity we could do with good cover at centre half even if we keep Fordy. Seven though Pearson and Miller are a formidable partnership an injury or suspension will leave us vulnerable especially with the number of games we have to go in such a short space of time.”
