Grimsby Town bosses eyeing fresh targets after ruling out Nathan Pond return
MARINERS joint boss Paul Hurst said the club is on the look-out for potential new centre-backs after ruling out bringing Nathan Pond back to Cleethorpes.
The defender enjoyed a good loan spell at Blundell Park in the first half of the season – but has since returned to Fleetwood.

NOT RETURNING: Nathan Pond
Hurst said: “All the information that we’ve had from Fleetwood is that he’s very much part of their plans, so we’ve drawn a line under that one and we’ll look at other potential targets if we feel we need to bring another centre-half in.
“I think it’s as definitive as it can be.

“Centre-half is an area that we’re looking to strengthen, partly because Shaun Pearson is on eight bookings so we have to be wary of that.
“But again, it’s about getting the right one.”

“How about a trial for out of contract Tottenham Defender James Yeaboah(19) ,or Portsmouth's out of contract defender Lewis Tallack(20).Im sure Paul Groves could give us some feedback on Tallack.”
