" I think we deserved a draw, but we probably didn't do enough to get three points. To lose the goal we way we did wasn't great, and I didn't feel it was a free-kick in the first place. The ref said that Frankie (Artus) has dived in on the lad, but he went to block the ball and won it cleanly. It was the referee being a bit over-zealous and probably watching a bit too much Champions League in the last few weeks. We did alright up until the last third of the pitch in attacking areas but a lot our crosses just ended up in the keeper's hands. Some of them were very good crosses and some were okay crosses that the centre-forwards could have done better with in terms of making better runs. That's the one thing we're disappointed with, aside from the defeat. Does anybody really want to go in there in score, get hurt in there to maybe take the goalkeeper's eye off it for it to fall to somebody else? At the moment, I wonder if there's something in the back of their minds that they don't want to do that."

" You can't be hard on them because over the last two games they've played well. They played well away against Mansfield, probably the best we've played for a while. And we played all right in spells on Saturday apart from that little bit of cutting edge. That's where football kicks you when you're down because there have been many a week where the fans have been saying 'they're not playing very well' but we've won. When you play well, all that's remembered is not the performance but the result – of course it is, that's the way it is and we know that. There's no reason to tear into anybody. I don't think anybody deserves that as nobody hasn't carried their weight. We want a little bit more. There are a few out there who are knocked confidence-wise and we want a bit more from them – another 10, 15, 20 per cent is what we need to be where we were a few weeks ago."
On an injury crisis…
" They looked a little bit tired on Saturday and we have to take into account the injuries we've got. We've lost Ross Hannah this week, Craig Disley this week, Derek Niven last week, and Shaun Pearson is carrying a knock. When you take the spine of your team out like that it's a big loss. Shaun started on Saturday but had to come off, you lose the two midfield players that have been playing regularly for us – albeit I thought Tom Naylor and Frankie Artus did okay in there. Shaun Pearson's been carrying his hip for a while and it tightened right up on him. That's the stage of the season where we're at. People are carrying things and you have to get on with it. You ask any manager at any club and they'll probably say the same. It's a difficult one because we're running out of players. We've got a big game tomorrow to get through and try to win. We'll have to have a look at it and see how long the big players for the football club are going to be out. I hope we have all of them back but maybe that's being a bit too optimistic. Derek Niven has done a bit of straight line running, but with his groin it's going to be something where twisting and turning will test it. Craig's looking hopeful today, but whether that's too early to play tomorrow we'll have to see."
On the Town fans…
" I was pleased that the fans gave them a good reception after the game because again I think they saw that the performance was there without the result. We need them to stick with us because when times aren't great it's easy to criticise and berate people, but that's when we really need the supporters to be behind the lads and give them that lift. There weren't any moans and groans and that's part and parcel of the performance, and everybody realising how well we have done so far."
