Former Grimsby Town player and manager Paul Groves loses job at Bournemouth
FORMER Grimsby Town player and manager Paul Groves has been sacked as Bournemouth boss.
The League One club parted company with the 46-year-old, pictured, and his assistant Shaun Brooks after winning just one of their 10 league games this season.
Groves – who made more than 500 appearances in two spells with the Mariners – was appointed permanent Cherries manager in May.
He was given a two-year contract, but won just three out of 20 games at the helm.

“The home defeat on Saturday saw fans rounding on the Bournemouth chairman. Tuesdays loss was the final straw it seems. The reasons are all too familiar to Town fans. Signings by the truck load - all sight unseen. Constant team changes. Costly signings sat on the bench or in the stands. (e.g. Tubbs). Groves is no manager - how many more chances will ge get?”
