Grimsby Town's Conference season 'cannot be extended'
CONFERENCE chief Dennis Strudwick insists the season cannot be extended - despite a building fixture backlog.
Grimsby Town face 12 league matches - and an FA Trophy final - before the close of the current campaign on Saturday, April 20.
However, the league's general manager Strudwick says an extension "wouldn't be fair" on clubs who do complete their fixtures.
"Wembley Stadium is booked for the play-off final on Sunday, May 6, so we've got to get four semi-finals played in the interim," he said.

“The current fixture congestion was forseen by many so why didnt the Conference hieracy?
Forsight and common sense is required but the conference seem to lack either. The fA Trophy should be a mid week competion, played primarily in the autumn and each game decided on the day, no replays.”
