GRIMSBY Town’s Youth set-up is set for another funding boost – thanks to The Mariners’ Gold Bond draw.

The initiative has paid out hundreds of thousands of pounds in cash prizes and helped raise vital funds for the football club over the years.

And now – in another boost to the Youth department at Blundell Park – proceeds from the draw will be directly invested into the club’s future.

Every year Town’s Youth system costs in excess of £100,000 to run and, since the club dropped out of the Football League, that vital funding has been stopped.

So to help bridge that gap, The Gold Bond Draw has been dedicated to aiding Youth Development.

The club hopes Town’s fans will support the draw in even greater numbers, and it can go someway to keeping the very successful Youth department running.

Current Mariners first- teamers Bradley Wood, Andi Thanoj and Dayle Southwell all came through the Youth system at Blundell Park.

And Premier League defender Ryan Bennett – now at Norwich City – was another to benefit from the club’s ability to develop and nurture talented young footballers.

For only £1 a week, supporters can help to sustain Grimsby Town’s Youth system – and be in with a chance of winning the top prize of £2,000, £10,000 in the annual super draw and over £17,000 in cash prizes.

Gold Bond Weekly Draw Winners (Friday, March 8 2013): £10 – Steve Cliffe, Mr K Herrett, Liam Hearn, Simon Ford, John Collins; £5 – Mrs Clark, Mrs M Brown, A Marshall, Mrs A Wright.

The Mariners’ Gold Bond winners will be printed every Tuesday in your free Young Stars supplement.

“Liam Hearn and Simon Ford both won £10 in the draw, something smells a bit fishy or has the GT just got it wrong? :)”
