“a winter break will not stop the freezing weather. Last season very few games were played in December, this season there will be very few games played in Feb, who knows what will happen next season. The winter season is getting longer ands colder. Do we do what they do in Russia and suspend the season from Dec to Feb or March just in case it is to cold? Just for the record the winter break in europe is for 2 weeks covering christmas and new year, they do that so players from other countries can go home and send time with their families not for weather reasons.”

“if they did move the season then at least it'd make watching the games more pleasant than sitting p*** wet through and freezing cold then maybe there would be better attendance at BP than there is now?
aren't the winter months usually from about december through to march, if there was a definite break then surely there would be no games lost to the weather, start the season late and end it well into the summer, this wouldn't affect the lower league clubs as players on international duty are usually from higher league clubs anyway plus international games are arranged around league and cup matches anyway so they won't be affected so whats the problem”

“On the positive side, Soares should be fully integrated by the time we play York. Also, evening matches tend to have more intense atmospheres.”

“A winter break is a very bad idea. When do you have it? Last year December was freezing, this year February is freezing. We could have a break in January when the temperature may be mild and matches could be played then come back in February when the temp may be sub zero and lose possibly another month? Unless we had guaranteed sub zero temperatures over the same period every winter then yes fine but we haven't so it'll never happen”

“In fairness I would have thought the snow would have protected the ground from the freezing temperatures!!”

“if they watched the weather they would know its a fat chance that it would of gone ahead, when the pitch is cover in snow and it was going to be -6 +”

“What a tremendous turn out this morning at 7.00am to clear the pitch, all in vain but an indication of the support for the club. Well done to all who made the effort, once again UTM”
