The skilled technician says he is so desperate he has offered his forehead on Ebay after reading about the US Presidential Republican campaign supporter who sold space on his head for $15,000 (£10,000).

David, 30, a father of three from Grimsby, lost his job following a car crash that left him with the debilitating condition, post traumatic stress disorder.

From a comfortable income in 2009 of up to £40,000, which allowed his family to enjoy holidays, a people carrier car and luxury items at their £750-per-month apartment, David has landed in a desperate hole of debt.

The car crash happened in Norfolk and transformed the family's fortunes, sending them head-long into the red.

The family has debts owed to credit card companies and phone networks of £25,493.

They left Norwich in 2010 and moved to be nearer relatives to a rented home on a Grimsby estate, selling as many items as they could.

David said: "I have tried every way imaginable to get rid of the debt. I have done odd jobs and a few car repairs to try to get back in the black.

"The crash left me with post traumatic stress disorder and I struggled to even walk out the door. It is the worst kind of illness. I got severe anxiety attacks. They can't give you tablets. My life was a wreck."

Now on the mend and seeking work, David added: "I am doing everything I can to keep the family going."

Within just a few years, David has gone from working abroad for a respected audio and lighting company and staging prestigious medical conferences and drug launches, to sitting at home trying to sell household items to make ends meet.

Now he has taken the drastic measure of selling his forehead to willing sponsors.

He said: "I will do anything and consider any logo or name that people want. It could be a betting company or anybody who is prepared to pay."

He said he could do an exclusive deal with a single company, or consider a number of firms, and would attend any promotional event the sponsoring firm required.

Editor's Comment

THE lengths that Grimsby man David Taylor is prepared to go to get cash are extreme, of that there is no doubt.

However desperation can push people to the absolute limit – and there is no one more desperate than a person without cash.

It would appear, from our story, that the situation David has found himself in has spiraled out of control through no real fault of his own.

He lost his job, has a home to run and a young family to feed.

You may accuse him of spending too much at a time when he was earning decent cash – however treating his family to holidays, a nice place to live and a decent car is hardly splashing out that much!

Debts have now been accumulated which top £25,000 – problem is, once a person gets into that situation, the stark reality is that it could take a lifetime to pay off, if at all.

But there are professionals out there who can help, who can make you see that there is a way out and make you realise that you are not the only one in such a situation.

The really important thing is that if you, like David, are struggling and can see no light at the end of a very long tunnel, then act before it gets too late – it will only take the courage of a phone call or visit.

“Wolla247 - withdrawing the listing won't have cost him anything. As a private seller, it is free to list something at auction if the start price is less than 99p.”
