Grimsby shoe shop ready to help boost the coffers of guide dog charity
YOU'D be barking mad to miss the chance of helping train guide dogs for North East Lincolnshire residents.
A selection of craft stalls and refreshments will be the focus of the Brantano Senior Savers event at the Victoria Street Retail Park store, on Wednesday.

Available at the stalls will be cushions, glassware, hand-knitted products, vintage items jams, cakes and chutneys.
Over 60s can enjoy free tea or coffee and 20 per cent off everything in store.

Jane Wilson, from Grimsby – who was born with no sight in her right eye and only five per cent vision in her left – is chair of Guide Dogs For The Blind, in Grimsby.
Her guide dog Hillary not only gives her confidence in life, but is entrusted in helping Jane with everyday tasks that we take for granted, such as crossing the road.
Jane, 54, said: "We want to raise as much money as possible from the event, and it will go towards training guide dogs.
"It costs up to £75,000 for the upkeep and training of a guide dog throughout its life.
"Hillary gives me the confidence factor and she is great at helping me with so many everyday tasks.
"I have only had Hillary for four years, and I had managed to live without her up until that point – now I wonder how I managed."
Linda Jameson, from Cleethorpes, is night blind and is currently waiting for a guide dog.
She said: "My previous dog Zita undertook training in Sheffield.
"She was great and I cannot wait to get another dog. I have been on the waiting list for a while because they are in demand.
"I think this event is a great idea and a way to raise money for guide dogs, that are needed."
Tracy Holmes, a senior saleswoman with Brantano, said: "I think it will be a fun event for everyone, and especially because it's for such a great cause."
The stalls will be open from 9am to 2pm – when you can also meet Hillary. On March 2, there will be an in-store raffle, with proceeds going to Guide Dogs For The Blind.
