Dartford ended Grimsby's 10-match unbeaten run with a 2-0 victory.

Grimsby had the better chances in a goalless first-half as Nathan Pond headed over from Joe Colbeck's right-wing free-kick, before Dartford goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli pulled off a smart save from Derek Niven's long-range effort

But it was the visitors who opened the scoring in the 52nd minute. Adam Birchall's blocked shot fell for Tom Champion on the right-side of the area and the midfielder fired across keeper James McKeown into the far corner of the goal.

McKeown kept his side in the game four minutes later as he tipped Birchall's shot away for a corner.

The home side pressed for an equaliser but Dayle Southwell's volley from 12 yards couldn't find the target.

And the visitors secured victory through Birchall's clinical finish after he ran through unchallenged from the halfway line.
