'Gun ready. You're doomed': Threat made by angry lover to ex-girlfriend
ANGRY lover Nicholas Brown sent his ex-girlfriend a menacing text warning her “Gun ready. You’re doomed.”
He suspected she might have been seeing someone else and was upset when she packed his bags and wanted him to leave, Grimsby Magistrates’ Court heard.
Brown, 41, formerly of Grimsby, admitted sending offensive text messages on October 11.
Brendan Woodward, prosecuting, said Brown had been in a relationship with Janet Watkinson and had previously lived with her but there was conflict and they hit problems.

Nick Furman, mitigating, said there was no history of violence between them. They fell out but there had been no contact since the incident.
Brown claimed his ex-girlfriend may have been seeing someone else. He would not have carried out the threats.
Unemployed Brown, now of Nottingham, was given a two-year conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £200 costs.

“Threats are just that. Is the person making them capable or in a posiotion to follow them through? Good grief, if I took every threat that seriously I would be on all sorts of meds. Knock them back, don't be so sensitive or make a big issue.”
