Happy hours trainspotting at crossings
JEFF Beedham got in touch after we published photographs of Grimsby level crossings.
Jeff told us: "It was interesting to see the excellent photographs of Littlefield and Friargate level crossings, as I too spent many happy hours trainspotting there.
"Gilbey Road level crossing is now the only working gated crossing in Grimsby.
"During the 1960s, steam was coming to an end on the railways. British Rail, mindful that there was a collectors market for name and number plates and other railway signs etc, opened a Collectors Corner at Euston station in London where collectable items would be sold to the public."
