Harris powers to win in Cleethorpes 5k

RICHARD Harris secured victory in this week's Cleethorpes 5K road race.

The Wolds Veteran Runners Club athlete with the military background led from the gun and completed his solo run in 17 minutes, 19 seconds.

In second, just in front of a closely-matched and competitive pack, was Clee AC's Kevin Green in 17.34.

Fellow 'blue and golds' Scott Indian and Trevor Green crossed the line together in the same time, 17.39, while Wolds Vet Andy Pegg set a new personal best in coming fifth in 17.47. Clee duo Paul Evison (17.49) and Paul Allcock (17.53) were also in the mix.

Benjamin Plumpton and Olivia Evans were the first male and female in the junior 3K race. Clee AC Paralympian wheelchair racer Jamie Carter clocked 15.45.
