"I HAVE loved every minute of it"

These were the words of long standing and much loved Grimsby head teacher, Denise Langridge as she retired from her life-time career.

Head of Scartho Nursery, Denise has been instrumental in tending to the needs of the pre-school children in and around the village for more than 25 years.

On Tuesday, Denise, surrounded by the nursery's children and tearful parents, bid a final farewell to the school she has dedicated most of her working life to – and even once saved from closure in 1997.

She said: "I have loved every minute I have been here. I love children at nursery age, which is why I have stayed here for so long.

"I wanted to concentrate on nursery education."

For more on her career and comments from some of her pupils, see today's Grimsby Telegraph.
