Heartbreak as Grimsby RUFC lose to last-gasp score
A SCORE from the final play of the game proved costly for Grimsby RUFC as they fell to defeat at Southwell.
The last-gasp try was a bitter pill for the Blues to swallow as they went down 15-10 to their Nottinghamshire rivals, who avenged their defeat at Spingfield Road earlier in the campaign.

The visitors struggled to get a foothold in the game, with the incisive, flowing rugby that the Blues had shown the week before a distant memory.

And from one penalty in front of the home posts, centre Nathan Watson got the Blues on the board with a kick.
Grimsby came out firing for the second half with huge hitting from Stuart Saunders, pictured, and scavenging work from Adam Waterman rattling the home side.
From a turnover at a line-out, props Jason Stead and Colin Matthews made tough yards and it was left to number eight Sam Vickers to crash over out wide for the score.
The younger Watson brother, Bradley, had taken the kicking duties and coolly smashed the extras over to bring the game level.
Grimsby pressed and went close on a number of occasions, but a resolute home defence held out.
But, with the clock ticking down the home side attacked from a line-out and, with the referee ready to blow for full-time, Southwell nicked a score to break Grimsby hearts.
Out of action on Saturday, the Blues will regroup for the visit of Amber Valley the following weekend.
