Heavy drinker, 38, stole phone to sell on
HEAVY drinker Justin Barnett stole a mobile phone intending to sell it in a pub, Grimsby magistrates heard.
Barnett, 38, of Hainton Avenue, Grimsby, admitted stealing a mobile phone from Tesco on November 19 and asked for a similar offence on November 14 to be considered.
Debbie Sanders, prosecuting, said Barnett slipped a mobile phone inside a foil-lined carrier bag and admitted he would have “asked around” in a pub later in a bid to sell it.
He tested positively for cocaine and opiates.

He wanted to get back off drink and taking drugs.
Sentence was deferred until May 20 to give Barnett the chance to complete the community order and stay out of trouble.
