"The number of people wanting to do our archery for beginners courses has totally outstripped what we had planned for. We are working hard to plan more courses as quickly as possible to cope with the demand.
"The Big Archery Weekend was a nationwide event organised by Archery GB to celebrate their 150th birthday.
"We've had people from as far north as Scarborough taking part, and everyone had a great day."
Amongst those trying archery was Anne Hudson, who said: "We attended the taster day and thoroughly enjoyed our half hour session.
"Many thanks to the lady who so patiently taught us – and all those who showed us their bows and spent time explaining them and demonstrating them to two complete novices."
