Hundreds join battle to block the turbines
HUNDREDS of villagers have united against the "industrialisation" of Lincolnshire's idyllic countryside.
They have formed the Marsh Wind Farm Action Group and their first battle is to stop eight 105-metre high wind turbines being erected on Bishopthorpe Farm, off Newton Marsh Lane, in Tetney.
The owners of Cleethorpes' Thorpe Park also back the campaign – as they will be just 950 metres away.

“Thank you Grimsby telegraph foe loosing my post just as I was about to enter it.Maybe they don't like me tilting at windmills. Anyway we will try again. Dig in folks you do not want those ugly useless things spoiling Lovely Lincolnshire. The only people that should like them are those that make money from them. The buyer of electricity pays through the nose.
Take today: When I looked at the windseed this morning it was 24km/hr.That would yield an output of: 6% of rated capacity. That means that 94% of the electrcity these things were supposed to produce was being generated by fossil fuelled generators.these generators are up & spinning at all times. Without them life would be a continuous blackout.. They are no good ugly & expensive. Shun them.”
