LEGAL proceedings will be taken against 25 travelling families parked on a Louth industrial estate.

Most of the caravans are parked illegally off Bolingbroke Road, with others on a nearby plot on the northern edge of the estate.

East Lindsey District Council spokesman, James Gilbert said: “We have to offer them a housing analysis and ensure the children involved are getting their educational needs met.

“We will begin legal proceedings.

“That can take more than two weeks. We hope they will move on within that time.”

Council staff have also delivered sacks to the site in order for rubbish to be collected.

A Lincolnshire Police spokeswoman said officers will provide council staff with support if asked to.

She said: “We will monitor the situation and deal with any disorder if it is brought to our attention.

“If people have concerns they can report it to the police.”

Lincolnshire Police can be contacted on (01522) 532222 for non-emergencies. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
