TWO rink triumphs out of five were enough for Louth Indoor Bowls Men's Over-60s to triumph on points aggregate at Grantham.

Louth's success on rinks four and two gave them a large enough margin.

On ring four, the team of Norman Stocks, Tony Saunders, Barry Southgate and Horace Cope raced into an 8-1 lead after five ends before being 32-9 ahead after the 21st. The ring two outfit of Geoff Tyler, Jon Utnage, Howard Hurst and Colin Smith managed 16 ends before the time up bell went – but they won 19-9.

The ladies' team hit great form in the Trudy Bates event, with wins on all but one of the rinks.

On rink three, Gill Leverton, Carol Kelly, Carol Smith and Lynne Woods won 18-17 after an epic battle.

The ladies' best rinks were their 25-15 and 26-16 victories on one and five respectively.

Louth Men's A team recently beat Long Sutton 14-4 on aggregate at home.

Louth's rink two team of Paul Stanley, Pat Jacklin, Dave Roper and Colin Smith went down 26-9 against the opposition's best line-up.

On rink five, Ernst Jensen, Howard Cope, Harry Putland and Tony Musson earned Louth a 38-14 victory.

Louth's rink three team – Jack Goy, Mally Hewson, Alan Watson and Allan Dent – conceded nine shots on the first two ends but recovered to triumph 26-21.
