Investigation begins into South Killingholme man's death at steelworks
AN INDEPENDENT investigation has been launched following the death of lorry driver Barry Shaw.
As reported on www.thisisgrimsby.co.uk, Mr Shaw, 53, of Top Road, South Killingholme, was killed at Corus, in Scunthorpe, after becoming trapped between a lorry tractor unit and a trailer on the Rod Mill lorry park at about 3.30pm on Saturday.

Today, as a post mortem examination was set to be carried out, bosses at the steelworks plant paid tribute to the sub-contractor, who was employed by White Liners haulage.
An official said: "Our thoughts are with Barry's family and friends at this very difficult time.
"Corus is carrying out its own investigation into the incident and is working closely with the external investigators, including the Health and Safety Executive, who are conducting investigations to establish the cause of the accident.
"We will seek to learn all we can from these investigations."

Very dearly loved and respected by all his family and friends and will be very sadly missed. The service is to take place at Grimsby Crematorium on Wednesday the 8th of September 2010 at 12:20pm. Barry is resting at Alexanders Funeral Care, Alexander House, 70 Carr Lane, Grimsby, DN32 8JP to where floral tributes may be sent or if so desired donations may be sent made payable to 'Alexanders Donation Account' and the final sum will be forwarded to a local charity of the families choice.
