JEALOUS lover Matthew Offiler viciously punched his girlfriend after arguing with her and previously accusing her of cheating on him, a court heard.
Offiler, 36, of Petchell Way, Grimsby, admitted assaulting Kerry Wilson, causing actual bodily harm, on October 13 .
Gordon Stables, prosecuting, told Grimsby Crown Court that Offiler accused Miss Wilson of seeing someone else after spotting another man’s name on a text message on September 29.
He pushed her, stamped on her mobile phone and smashed it.

After a later argument, he angrily punched her on the back of the head and repeatedly in her face with great force, causing her to collapse and hit her head. She was left unconscious.
Steven Freestone, mitigating, said Offiler had been drinking heavily and claimed he could not remember much about what happened.
He was “horrified” at the “nasty” injuries caused to his girlfriend’s face and had shown remorse and sorrow in text messages he later sent to her.
There had been no further contact and he accepted the relationship was over.
Offiler, who works for an engineering company, was given an eight-month suspended prison sentence, a one-year supervision order, 150 hours’ unpaid work, a three-year restraining order and was told to pay £1,750 compensation and £300 costs.
