John Fenty frustrated as Grimsby Town match is postponed
JOHN Fenty admits it was "massively frustrating" to see Grimsby Town's clash at Macclesfield postponed this evening.
The Mariners director made it safely to Moss Rose for the match, despite a traffic jam on the M62.
However, the Town team coach wasn't as fortunate and, with most of the playing squad stranded on the motorway, the match was called off.
"It's massively frustrating for everyone," Fenty told the Grimsby Telegraph. "It was going to be a spectacle, with it being on television, and we were all looking forward to it.

"We're disappointed that it has had to be called off but it's all about preparation. We certainly didn't want to start the game and be at a disadvantage right from the off."

“I stand corrected, said the man in the orthopaedic shoes. My apologies Mr coach driver, the reports I read gave the impression it was the accident that happened at 5.50 am when a lorry overturned on to an Audi 5 killing the man and woman in the car. Dreadful accident, puts everything, especially having to play 3 games in a week, into perspective”

“Anyone suggesting that an overnight stay for a 7.45pm kick off at Macclesfield would be helpful is mistaken. There is nothing wrong with a light training session at Cheapside mid-morning, and a pm coach journey when the players are resting ready for the late kick off.
Going too early means trying to find accommodating training facilities in the area, and, apart from all the increased costs of an overnight stay, there is the problem of keeping the players entertained and focused whilst they're away from home an additional 24 hrs!”

“The M6 is a pain at the best of times, I remember coming back from a gig in Manchester a couple of years back in the early hours and getting caught in traffic because of a horse in the road and that took long enough to sort out! Can only imagine the issues surrounding a car accident at that time of day!”

“Dailyman-The accident occured just after 3pm and it meant the westbound section between Junction 24 Ainley Top and Junction 22 Rishworth was closed.
Hope everyone was ok.”

“With respect to Mr Dailyman the accident happened minutes in front us and could not have been avoided! If we had been minutes in front we would have missed it, a few minutes behind and we could have diverted! From the coachdriver.XX”

“If it could make the difference between promotion or another dreaded year in the BSP, i would like to think that GTFC would stump the bill?”
