​THE funeral of former Grimsby Town player and Lincoln City manager Keith Alexander was taking place at Lincoln Cathedral today.

Scores of footballing figures, including managers and players, will attend the funeral for the 53-year-old Macclesfield manager who died just hours after his club's 1-0 defeat to Notts County in League Two.

Commercial manager Dave Smith, chief executive Ian Fleming and director Mike Parker will represent Grimsby Town Football at the funeral.
