Kerry to head Carr Lane fishing evening
ENGLAND international Lee Kerry will be the star at Carr Lane Social Club's angling evening on June 5.
Only recently selected to fish at this year's European Championship, attracting Kerry is a real coup for the Carr Lane Angling Club – tickets will go on sale soon in local tackle shops (£5 each).
Meanwhile, Messingham Sands fishery is still producing excellent weights for local anglers – all the lakes seem to be fishing well.
On Sunday, Hull angler Tony Noon found peg 11 to be full of carp. Fishing 8mm and 6mm on a waggler, 30 metres out towards an island, Noon found carp from a couple of pounds right up into double figures.

His biggest problem was the weather – seeing his float at that distance would have been difficult enough, but heavy rain and snow made visibility nigh-on impossible.
As the fish were swimming away from the bottom, Noon was forced to persevere with the waggler and did really well to compile such a good weight.
Travelling companion, John Jefferson, drew on the opposite side of the lake – facing into the wind – and deserved his second-placed 47lbs.
Despite the adverse weather, competitors were surprised by the number of carp showing on the surface. This should bode well for when winter eventually decides to relinquish its grip!
